LED lighting

With LED (light emitting diode) technology gaining popularity every day, and light bulb producing companies all over the world making major advances with many different LED applications, the future of lighting our homes and businesses will take a very big change in the very near future.

The change to LED lighting has the potential to save more than 80% of the electrical lighting energy over conventional incandescent lighting products in both residential and commercial applications.

This new LED technology also greatly reduces CO2 emissions, and do not require special disposal methods due to the components of LED technology containsing no toxic materials that can harm our environment

Some of the new developments include:

1.      A wide array of highly efficient lighting products for your home and business.

Note: A 10-watt light bulb replaces a 100-watt incandescent bulb and contains a single, extremely bright 10-watt LED. One LED light bulb will save you nearly $450 in electricity over its life while reducing CO2 emissions by over 9,000 pounds compared to regular incandescent light bulbs.

2    New commercial street lighting products that will revolutionize and reduce metropolitan lighting costs by 70% +.

Note:  It is estimated that street lighting accounts for over 30% of all electricity purchased for most cities around the world.  Inefficient lighting wastes billions of dollars each year and can account for 30% of total greenhouse gas pollution produced by a municipality.

3   A 60% Reduction in phantom power consumption in our computers, TVs, and gadgets we all need in this modern world of electronic addiction.

Benefits of using LED lighting.

1.  Saving Energy: LEDs use roughly 1/10 the energy of a comparable light bulb. Plus, they typically last 25 times longer than a conventional incandescent. Try thinking of it this way, if you turned on one LED bulb for four hours a day, it would last over 30 years. You can also run an LED bulb constantly (never turn it off) for over five years straight.

2.  Saving Money:  Using less energy saves on bills while helping the environment. If      you use 1/10 of the energy to produce the same amount of light, you will only pay for 1/10 of the bill. An LED bulb, replacing a 60watt incandescent uses only about 6 watts and produces the same amount of light. The same LED bulb also lasts for 50,000 hours. You replace it less and spend less when it is on, saving money every hour. Government grants and tax deductions are potentially available to homes or businesses that switch to LED bulbs.

On top of saving on your bills, the government has plans to help pay for the switching to LED lighting.

3. Saving our Environment: CFL light bulbs (compact fluorescents) also last for a long time, but they still last less than half as long as LED bulbs. These CFLs also contain mercury, which contribute to negative environmental effects in landfills, are completely recyclable, and use less energy than any comparable product. This makes the most energy efficient form of lighting on the market.

4.  Other Advantages: Typically LED bulbs are safe to touch, even after being on for many hours. Also, LED bulbs can be used in your existing light fixtures when replacing incandescent or CFL bulbs.

LED lighting still may seem to be too expensive for you to conceder changing all you lighting right now, just change one light bulb at a time as needed. After a while you will only be changing light bulbs every ten years.

Led lighting will be the technology of the future, saving major amounts of energy and money.
