GAS AND FUEL EFFICIENT TIRES

GAS /fuel  efficent  automotive tires

Automotive tire manufacturers and motorist groups all over the world are trying to encourage drivers to pay closer attention to gas mileage savings and what is the most neglected part of a vehicle THE TIRES!!

Energy Efficient Tires

TIRES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT FUEL SAVING DEVICES FOR ALL VEHICLES.

A tires design and size contributes to rolling resistance and your gas mileage savings. With the popularity of bigger, wider fancy wheels, tire manufacturers have been tested on coming up with new designs to reduce rolling resistance. The bigger wider tires and wheels many of us like to make our cars look good contribute to build up of higher heat and increase rolling resistance reducing your gas mileage savings.

Automotive tire manufacturers, environmental and consumer organizations came together in California late in 2007 to stress the importance of fuel efficient automotive tires in saving gas and reducing greenhouse emissions. The group came to the conclusion that if a third of the drivers in California purchased fuel efficient automotive tires it would add up to 100 million gallons in gas mileage savings and save consumers $340 million a year.

Apply these numbers to a third of the vehicles in the USA it would save 1 billion gallons in gas savings and $3.5 billion a year.

The USA uses 13.5 billion gallons of gas every year at a cost to us of $400 billion. The gas savings of $3.5 billion may not seem like much but could go a long way towards energy independence and the development of
renewable energy.

Fuel efficent tires, eco tires, and low rolling resistance tires for our cars and trucks are chosen for gas mileage savings and economy as auto manufacturers try to meet federal fuel efficiency standards. Manufacturers like  Goodyear, Bridgestone Michelin  and others Find Tires By Brand  are helping with our gas mileage savings by designing new technology lower rolling resistance tires. When you purchase a new car, more than likely you will see these tires on the vehicle to help with the mileage rating you see on the window sticker. Most people will replace those tires unaware that gas saving will go down if they don’t make an educated purchase.

There are many retailers with helpful information like

Many tire retailers will help you make the best decision when it comes time to replace your old tires. Also many new cars will have smaller wheels and skinnier tires to help with the gas mileage rating. Replacing worn out tires with the manufacturers recommended size will insure that the car or truck you just purchased will keep getting the gas mileage savings you expected.

Under inflated tires contribute to 3.5 million gallons of gas mileage savings wasted each day in the USA. That’s 8 million 750 thousand dollars a day or 3 billion 150 million dollars a year that we are sending to countries that don't like us very much, because we won't pay closer attention to properly inflated tires.

Checking for proper inflation in your tires should become habit that is done weekly, Not just when you have your oil changed. A loss of one psi a week is not uncommon. If only one tire is under inflated it will reduce your mileage. It only takes two minutes to check all four tires. Your gas saving will improve by 3% to 4% and your tires will last up to 15% longer.

If you don't have a tire pressure gauge GET ONE!!

The tire Air Gauge helps maintain accurate air pressure, save you money at the pump and will increase gas mileage savings.

Some people claim that they get increased gas mileage savings by hyperinflation of there tires. This simply is not true and will create very unsafe conditions with braking and cornering. Automotive tire Manufacturers will not recommend doing this and when they find out your warrantee will go away.

Keep your tires at the maximum recommended pressure by the tire manufacturer and you will enjoy a 1 to 2 mpg in gas mileage savings.

We all must pay attention to our tires!!!

Another way to save major amounts of energy !!!
